Lake Powell 09

We just got back from Lake Powell, and it was dreamy. I had such a great time with my buddies for my bday. Patrece made me a pumpkin roll (my FAVE) and we got to eat it every morning for breakfast. I loved every minute, and really have great friends!

Lagoon

Last Thursday I decided to take the boys to Lagoon. I didn't even invite Mike to come because he hates it there so bad.... (probably an after affect of growing up in Bountiful). Instead I decided to invite some of my girlfriends and their kids.  To say the least, there were A LOT OF KIDS! It could have been a nightmare, but turned out really fun. It's nice to have older kids with cell phones. We floated in the lazy river for a couple hours while they rode the crazy rides. I then did something that is so not like me.... I "BOUNCED BACK" 3 days later! I was really glad we did it after all was said and done, but 2 trips in a summer is enough for me!

Wyatt just got braces last week, so I had all the teenagers show off their metal mouth smiles. So cute!
All these kids on Thursday... and they got along great! AMAZING.
The mom's right after our trip in the lazy river. Quite relaxing, except for the other bazillion people there. I just took a deep breath and tried to ignore the fact that about 50 people were probably peeing right next to me at all times. Oh well, I lived. And had a bunch of fun in the mean time. Yay for summer!

Football Camp MVP

This was back in June, but my friend just gave me the pics so I thought I'd post them. Wyatt went to the BYU football camp this summer for a week. It's such a great experience for him. During the days it's all football. The coaches really work them hard! But at night they get to do all kinds of fun activities! They stay in the dorms, and they have camp counselors that are really awesome. He did a talent/ice cream party, a movie/pizza party and they took them to Seven Peaks on the last day. The coolest part though is that my little stud got the MVP of defense award! He really works hard and LOVES football! He also won the award last year! Pretty cool if you ask me!
This is Wyatt and his buddy Dallin. They had a great time together!

Finally my BFF started a blog!

So, my best friend and next door neighbor, PATRECE started a blog in my honor just for my birthday today! She is such a doll and I just don't know what I would ever do without her! Please visit her blog now and link her ASAP! :)

This picture is of she and I at the Journey concert this summer. We rode the Harley's there, so we had to wear bandanas on our heads the whole night. It was ok though... considering the fans that were there. We fit right in!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is the day I've been waiting for..... to finally turn 25!.... Oh wait, you don't think I look my age? Well I took this picture so early this morning. Don't hold it against me... just let me have my moment.
Ok, Ok, maybe I'm a tad over 25... WHATEVER!

Zach's Bday

Last week was my nephew, Zach's birthday. He turned 20, which is crazy because he was 4 years old when Mike and I got married! Man I'm old! Anyway it was a fun day at Lori's house. Of course, she had the best food ever and tons of it. So, we just hung out and ate and laughed a lot.

This picture is of me and Zach's girlfriend, Jessica. I showed up and low and behold... we were both wearing the same t-shirt. I guess great minds think alike!
Wyatt, Mike, Zach, Jessica, Hayden and Grandma (Lori) just chillin' in the family room.

Neighborhood Girls Night Out

Went out with all my neighborhood gal pals a few nights ago for the "August birthdays". Chili's didn't know what to do when they saw us comin'...

Saturday with the Fam @ Raging Waters

We went for a family outing to Raging Waters this past Saturday. This is the slide that everyone went on but me, including my DAD & MOM! They are so cool. I couldn't believe my mom did it especially. She's turned in to quite the dare devil!
Hayden, Wyatt and Mike waiting in line to go on the "scary slide".
The kids thought it would be funny if they stacked all the tubes and put Tristan inside. Tristan obviously thought it was a great idea too.

Our little spot on the grass to chill and EAT.

All in all it was a great day. The kids had a great time and the adults got to play and relax. Not too shabby!

Oh How Fun!

I was invited by my blogging BFF, AMY for a little get together at her house to celebrate her 100th post! She is truly AMAZING! First of all, her house is gorgeous. Next, she kept telling me that this little shindig wasn't going to be anything spectacular, but I should've known better. She had glitter cups for everyone (I already had mine, 'cause I won her apron giveaway and she snuck that in too) and we all had our very own place settings. She had salad, an amazing artichoke dip (still need the recipe), and the best chicken fajitas I've ever tasted!
This is what my personalized setting looked like...

Tonia and Marla showed up with the cutest display of cupcakes I've ever seen!

Could you die?!?

Of course we all had to take a minute for a photo op... We have to remember this fun time forevah!! The rest of the girls she invited were so great and friendly. I can't wait to get together with all of them again!
Thanks so much Amy for making my day today! You are freaking adorable and I hope you know how much I heart u!

Cool 24th!

Thursday, the 24th was such a fun day for our family. We went to a wakeboard competition with our friends the Wadsworth's and our buddy Augie. The kids have been practicing for a month in order to enter the competition. They all did so good. Wyatt cleared the wake twice and landed a bunch of cool board grabs. The kid is getting some serious air! Hayden won the kid division! He did so good and just "went for it." He got the biggest air we've ever seen him get and he landed a bunch of jumps and board grabs. The Wadsworth girls did awesome too! It was a very hot day, but well worth it! Wyatt and Sadie getting ready to compete.
The big sponsor truck that everyone stood under to get some shade.
Harlee, Sadie, Wyatt and Hayden. Best Buddies!
After Hayden competed, it got a little hairy. Some kid did a jump and somehow hit his head with his board. As you can see by the streaming blood down his back... it didn't turn out well for him. The ambulance came and gave him a head full of stitches. It was really gross!

Here we go again....

This weekend was a good one! Friday night we went to see Mama Mia. What a cute show... but just a tip, unless your guy has gay tendencies... don't bring him. Mike slept through the whole thing. We saw the live show in Vegas a few years ago, and the movie didn't disappoint. Meryl Streep is so good! The only part I could have done without is Pierce Brosnin's singing. Not the best I have to say. But for a fun girl's night... go see it!

Saturday night we went to the Police concert. It was a blast! The only problem was that I FORGOT MY CAMERA! How dumb is that? I was so bugged... but I got over it the minute Sting started to sing. He sounds EXACTLY the same as on his CD's! Very good music, great weather and good friends. It doesn't get better than that!

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for...

1. My funny little Hayden. He is always such a crack up, but tonight we were on the couch watching TV, and Hayden had fallen asleep. All of a sudden we hear him say "BOARD GRAB!" I looked over and he was still sleeping. We laughed so hard because all he thinks about right now is wakeboarding. He even dreams about it I guess.

2. Living by a Lake. As I mentioned above, my boys have been OBSESSED with wakeboarding this year. Thankfully it's not a big "to do" everyday getting them out there.

3. Saturday. This is the day that Wyatt will finally be home from scout camp! I miss him! They wouldn't even let him bring his phone, so we haven't heard from him since Monday. I'm sure he's having a great time, but I'm done with him being gone now.

4. Netflix. I love getting movies I haven't seen, in the mail.

5. Another concert. We bought tickets to this one months ago. I can't believe we finally get to go!!!

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for...

1. The navigation system in my car. I hadn't ever tried to use it until last weekend when I had to drive to Manti by myself with a trailer on the back. I asked Mike for instructions and he said, "why don't you use your GPS?" And I said, "cause I don't know how." So he helped me, and it took about 2 minutes to set up. That sweet little thing talked to me the whole way there and made sure I made it to my final destination. So now I use it to go to the post office. It's really fun!

2.Nectarines. Ooooooh, they're so yummy right now!

3. Bunco. I play with all my neighborhood friends, and I have to say that lately especially... I've really enjoyed it! They're all really fun and I love getting to know them better every month.

4. Air Conditioning. (need I say more?)

5. Buttrocker Concerts. I'm going to this one tomorrow night, so I'll probably break out the aqua net and blue eyeliner. Can't wait!

4th of July 2008

Because we were camping and you couldn't do fireworks in the state park, we went in to Manti to watch them instead. We thought it was gonna be some small town show, but we were wrong! They had a pre-show at the high school with live music and a big celebration. Then, they started the fireworks. It was so cool, because the temple was right there in the background, and they played patriotic music the whole time. What a fun family night it turned out to be!

Palisade Lake 2008

Our family went to Palisade Lake for the "4th" weekend this year. It was so fun! We usually go every year, but usually in June or August. The lake is so small that you can't have motorboats on it. The kids just kayak and fish all day long. I sat in a chair and read a book most of the time. That's the life!

This pic is of Hayden after a hike with Grandma. He found a lizard. Fun stuff!

This is Mike's idea of trying to keep the "bugs out".
