Cool 24th!

Thursday, the 24th was such a fun day for our family. We went to a wakeboard competition with our friends the Wadsworth's and our buddy Augie. The kids have been practicing for a month in order to enter the competition. They all did so good. Wyatt cleared the wake twice and landed a bunch of cool board grabs. The kid is getting some serious air! Hayden won the kid division! He did so good and just "went for it." He got the biggest air we've ever seen him get and he landed a bunch of jumps and board grabs. The Wadsworth girls did awesome too! It was a very hot day, but well worth it!

Palisade Lake 2008
Our family went to Palisade Lake for the "4th" weekend this year. It was so fun! We usually go every year, but usually in June or August. The lake is so small that you can't have motorboats on it. The kids just kayak and fish all day long. I sat in a chair and read a book most of the time. That's the life!
This pic is of Hayden after a hike with Grandma. He found a lizard. Fun stuff!

Flashback Friday
I was just looking through some old photos and found these. They were taken July 4th, 2005. I remember this day like it was yesterday, and can't believe how time has flown by. We always get together with the whole fam and do tons of fireworks. This year will be different because we won't be home, but we'll still be with family so that's what counts. Happy 4th and have a great weekend!!

Sure kids... you can shoot a gun.
Because we own a Land Rover, we always get invited to their annual events. It usually takes place in Moab, but this year they decided to switch it up a bit and do a day activity. So, we went down to Grantsville to a shooting range. It actually was really fun and they had great food and awater balloon fight for the kids too.
Mindi, the following pic is for you. Remember how I said that my son always jumps in front of everyone in pics? See Exibit A....
I'm sure I'll get "Mom of the Year" for this one. See Wyatt's face and how red it is? Well, he went kayaking with his uncle Todd and cousin Bryan the day before and I didn't put ANY sunscreen on him. Feel free to pat me on the back or give me a high five next time you see me. Oh and Mike's gonna LOVE me for posting this pic of him I'm sure.
This is Wyatt shooting and Mike in the background giving him a hard time because he was missing the targets.

My son thinks he's a supermodel...
I took, Wyatt & Hayden and the Wadsworth girls to our neighborhood pool the other day and we met up with Tiff and their cousins. The kids had a great time, but the only problem was that Hayden wouldn't stop posing for the pictures like this....
And this... the kid kills me.

Memorial Weekend

When the weather sucks over Memorial weekend, what else is there to do but go to movies? Friday night we went to Indiana Jones. We met up with my whole family and took up about 2 rows. Bryan and Brady were with their dad that night so my boys brought friends. My review of the movie is this: DUMB! The story was stupid and the special effects brought me back to 1985... and not in a good way. There were a few cool parts, but for the most part I was bored. Oh well, the boys had a good time and it was fun to hang out with the fam!
On Saturday night Todd & Misty invited us over to their house for the UFC fights. Wyatt and Hayden got to watch Tristan. It was really fun. Tristan is hilarious right now. He was running around our house getting anything he wanted.... Even the phone, which he used to call random people and hang up. Nice.
Sunday night we got together with the Wadsworth's and had homemade hamburgers and french fries... Only 12,000 carbs each, oh but they were good! We watched Transformers that night because I had never seen it. It was so cute. The special effects were awesome and reminded me even more how dumb Indiana Jones was.

Monday night we met up with our friends, The Telaroli's. Our kids are the same age and have become good friends. We saw the new Narnia movie. I didn't think it was gonna be that good, because from what I'd seen it hadn't gotten very good reviews. To my delight, it was soooo good. I think it was better than the first one. Great story and just a cool movie. So all in all, we had a pretty good weekend even though it was a cold one.

Disneyland
My mom and aunt Diane were so great to bring my boys to Disneyland for spring break while Mike and I were in Africa. I think it made our time away from home a lot easier on them. They had such a great time! It was my mom's first time going there, and she was such a good sport. She rode all the rides except for Tower of Terror! Once again, I have to mention how great she is and that I couldn't live without her! Thanks Mom & Diane!!!

Teacher Appreciation Week
So as I said earlier, I am the room mom for my 3rd grader, Hayden. Yesterday my mom and I went to his class and took this picture. I bought a chunky wood frame at Rod Works and had all the kids sign the front of it. I'm gonna frame it and get a stand to put it on for his class. I also had each kid write a letter of their favorite memory with him this year, which I am compiling in to a book. I love the sentimental stuff and I think the teachers do too. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know! I'm sure a lot of you moms have done this a bunch. :)
Hayden's teacher is the best in the school. He really lucked out in getting him this year!
