Disneyland

My mom and aunt Diane were so great to bring my boys to Disneyland for spring break while Mike and I were in Africa. I think it made our time away from home a lot easier on them. They had such a great time! It was my mom's first time going there, and she was such a good sport. She rode all the rides except for Tower of Terror! Once again, I have to mention how great she is and that I couldn't live without her! Thanks Mom & Diane!!!

Wyatt and Hayden even got to meet up with their friends, Mason and Dalton while they were there.

What a DORK!

If anyone loathes Heidi from "The Hills" as much as I do, please feel free to watch her make an idiot (as usual) of herself HERE. (I know, I'm a brat, but I saw her on Ellen yesterday and wanted to barf)

Where's Ashton?

We went out on Saturday night with a bunch of our friends to dinner and a show. The movie "What Happens In Vegas" gets my three thumbs up!!! I laughed my butt off and might I add, Ashton Kutcher is so hot! I see why Demi fell for him for sure! He and Cameron both are so funny and adorable in it. I can't wait to see it again! So for all you movie goers... let me know what other movies are good right now. We were out of town for so long that I think I missed a bunch of 'em!

Finished

I finished reading "The Host" by Stephenie Meyer today, and for anyone contemplating reading it... DO IT. She is a crazy, amazing author! I really loved it! It's captivating in the strangest way.
So, there's my 2 cents... Please let me know what you think when you read it!!!

Thankful Thursday

Ok, this is my second week in a row. I have much to be thankful for!

1. My MOM!!! I missed out on the Favorite Monday mom tribute, so I have to mention her now. My mom is the most giving and unselfish person I know. When we were growing up, she would go years without buying anything new for herself, but she always made sure I had every cheer and choir uniform and something great to wear to all the dances. She's very honest and doesn't sugar coat it. If I don't look my best, she won't lie, but she's always the first to give out the compliments and let you know great you are (even if you probably aren't that great). She's a wonderful grandma. She has always been so loving with my boys and all her grandchildren. I really appreciate all that she's done for me and love her so much!

2. Afrin - No Drip. It's the only way I've been able to breath the past few days. About 4 shots up each nostril and I'm a new woman.

3.The Sun. It's been so nice to have warm weather the past couple days.

4. Pilsbury Cookie Dough. My kids think I'm super mom when I make cookies... little do they know... not so much.

5. High Thread Count Sheets. Sleeping in my own bed and good sheets after 3 weeks has been a dream!

I heart Jenn C.!

I have to publicly thank my neighbor and new friend Jenn. I've been really sick the past few days and have been dying to start reading "The Host" that just came out today. Anyway, she was such a doll and picked it up for me and personally delivered it to my house! How awesome is that???? So Thank you Jenn sooooo much! I really do owe you one big time! Now I'll be off to my couch for the next 3 days reading. :)

Also, I just noticed on Mindi's blog that there is a REAL (itty bitty) trailer for the upcoming Twilight movie and you can see it HERE!

I know you love me!

And I just found the movie poster on Tib's blog. Whoo-hooo what a day!

Teacher Appreciation Week

So as I said earlier, I am the room mom for my 3rd grader, Hayden. Yesterday my mom and I went to his class and took this picture. I bought a chunky wood frame at Rod Works and had all the kids sign the front of it. I'm gonna frame it and get a stand to put it on for his class. I also had each kid write a letter of their favorite memory with him this year, which I am compiling in to a book. I love the sentimental stuff and I think the teachers do too. If anyone has any other ideas, let me know! I'm sure a lot of you moms have done this a bunch. :)

Hayden's teacher is the best in the school. He really lucked out in getting him this year!

Best Buddies

Wyatt had big plans Saturday night to go to the movies with his buddies. About an hour before they were ready to leave, Sadie came over so naturally he invited her too! Those two have been best friends since they were little. Sadie is Patrece's daughter and they live next door. We are so lucky! So anyway, they both had to "get ready" before they went. I'm sure they were planning on scoping out the opposite sex and had to smell good. This was them before they left. And yes, I know, Wyatt needs a haircut!

Happy 40th Todd

It was our good friend, Todd's 40th birthday last Wednesday, so we all went out to Montello, NV (Cory's mom's place) to celebrate. We had LOTS of fun! Todd is such a great guy, you know I had to give a shout out! We love ya and you don't look a day over 29! :)

The guys thought it was such a bright idea to ride their bikes out there on Friday night. The lowest temp hit 36 before they got there. We planned on them walking in like "Dumb and Dumber" having snot frozen to their faces... It wasn't that bad thankfully, but the girls were the smart ones. We rode in car with heat!

Final Four

Ok, I know I'm a little slow on talking about this, but I've been trying to catch up on all my TIVO'd shows since I've been back. I can't believe Syesha is still on American Idol! What is going on? In my opinion, she should have been gone weeks ago. I'm so sad Brooke left! I know she didn't have the best voice, but it was so original and I just loved her! Oh well, at least my David's are still there. One of them better win dang it!

Thankful Thursday

Mindi and Tib do Thankful Thursday every week and I thought I'd hop on the bandwagon.

1. I am thankful to be home. It is so nice to take a vacation, but there is nothing like the feeling of your home and bed after being away for a long time.

2. I am thankful for my boys. I missed them so much while we were gone and don't know what I'd do without them.

3. I am thankful for extra toiletries at my house. Between 4 of us, we had 10 checked bags... I know, I know... They all got lost except for the guns on the way home. What the ....?

4. I am thankful for my mom and mother-in-law and best friend, Patrece. They were so kind to make sure the boys were well taken care of for 17 days! I am so lucky!

Hopefully I can keep this up week after week. I think it's really good for me to remember how great I have it!

Need some good ideas

Next week is Teacher Appreciation week at our elementary school. I am the room mom for my 3rd grader. First of all, I have to make a poster for the teacher's door. I would like a cute, original idea.... Also, if anyone has done this before, any other ideas for the week would be so helpful because I'm drawing a blank. I'm gonna blame in on the fact that I've been out of the country for half the month!

A few pics

My husband downloaded all the pictures we took on his laptop, so I don't have many right now, but I thought I would give you a little sample of my experience. So here's the story: Mike's friend Sharif invited us about a year and half ago to go on a hunt in South Africa with he and his wife. We thought... sure, a year and a half is forever away. Well it came, and it came fast. I couldn't believe I was actually getting on a plane to go half way across the world to HUNT! The plan was that the first week was for the guys to go hunting and then we were flying to Cape Town for a week for some rest and relaxation. To my surprise, the favorite part of my trip was the first week! We would wake up in the morning, put on our camo and set out to find animals. It was so surreal. The landscape looked like home, but with cactus and then out of nowhere, we'd see zebra, wildabeasts, warthogs, monkeys, kudu, and on and on. It was truly amazing. Now for the non-hunters out there... sorry. The next pic is the Kudu Mike shot after we sat on a small fold up stool for 2 hours saying nothing at all and not moving. They are such a pretty animal.

This is a picture with the owner and our private hunting guides. We stayed at their lodge in the middle of nowhere and they were such nice people.

This is a picture in Cape Town. We took a cable car up to Table Mountain. The views were amazing!

I'll try to put a slideshow together today with a lot more pics (if I can figure it out).

I'm baaaaaaccccck!

Hey everyone! I just thought I'd do a quick post to say hello! I'm finally back from South Africa. We've been gone for 17 days! It was an amazing trip and I'll try to post some pics tomorrow. We figured out that we were traveling for a straight 36 hours to get home. It was CRAZY! Anyway, I can't wait to get back to blogging... I've missed it! :)

I need your help...

I need a really good book to read on an upcoming (17 hr) flight I'll be taking. Yes, I've already read the Twilight Series, but I'd love something nice and juicy like that. It has to capture my attention from the first chapter... Anyone, anyone........ Buhler? :)

How Sad

I was so dissapointed last night that Adam Corolla and Julianne Hough got voted off Dancing With The Stars. I personally think he made the show. I about fell off the couch when he said that the costume people dressed him like a silent porn star! Yeah he sucks at dancing, but he was so funny! And I love Julianne! Oh well, just thought I'd give a shout out... The show won't be the same without them. Hopefully Cheryl will get voted off soon. She bugs the crap out of me!

Our Song

Misty did a tag asking what your song is with your significant other, which, I guess is quite fitting today (see next post). So, I would have to say "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. Probably not so much anymore, but when we first met, this song was the shizz!

Happy Anniversary to Me!

Yesterday was my 15 year anniversary. So Crazy! I can' t believe it's been that long! I have to say that my husband, Mike is really great! I think I like him more now than when I married him... and that's saying something! Love ya babe! So for the big "year" we are taking a trip to South Africa. I don't want to say when, but if anyone has been there, feel free to leave us some tips on places to go or things to do! We are going to Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Johannesburg.

And if you were wondering -- Yes we did get married on April Fools Day. My son said yesterday when he found that out.... So mom does that mean your marriage was a ----- JOKE? We thought it was pretty funny! It actually just turned out to be the best day for everyone's schedules. And the good thing is... we never forget it! :)

Easter pics

I'm a little late to be posting Easter pictures, but oh well. We have a tradition every year with our good friends to have a big barbecue and a nighttime Easter egg hunt the night before Easter Sunday. The kids have so much fun. They usually get new flashlights and the eggs are hidden everywhere in ours and Cory & Patrece's backyards. Just one of the many great things about living right next door to them. It was a really good time for sure!

All the kids right before they ran out to gather eggs

Hayden checking to see if he got the lucky egg. It was a no go this year. Erik was the lucky one to get the golden egg with a $5 bill inside.

Wyatt got a new (better) phone that day, so of course he's texting everyone he can think of.

I thought I was going to buy myself a little extra sleep time Sunday morning by doing clues to the boys' Easter baskets. I thought I was so clever with my clues and it would take the boys at least a half hour to find them. Wrong! They were done in about 2.2 seconds. Little suckers. Next year I'm gonna make it really hard. The following is what they found in the laundry room.

5 CD's on a deserted island...

Ok, so this cute girl, Mindi (that I really don't know) has the best blog ever! She is so funny and so creative, I can't quit looking to see what she posts next. Misty actually found her, so I can't take the credit. Anyway, she's asking everyone (probably not me, but too bad) to post the 5 CD's they would want to have most if they were deserted on an island. I got to thinking about it and this one was HARD! I like so many different kinds of music that it was impossible to narrow it down to 5. This is what I came up with:

Lifehouse - Who We Are
This is my favorite band right now. I am obsessed with his voice! I wanted to go to the concert in Salt Lake a couple weeks ago and couldn't get tickets! I'm still a little PO'd about it. Their music is chillin, sexy, and just plain good.

Breaking Benjamin - Phobia

I couldn't live without the hard stuff, and these guys are the best at it in my opinion. My favorite song on the CD is Breath, but the whole thing is good and that doesn't happen very often with this kind of music.

Erasure - The Innocents

Loved it in the 8th grade and still love it today.

Jack Johnson - Brushfire Fairytales

Reminds me of sitting around a campfire at Lake Powell. Probably would work on a deserted island too. We're talkin' good stuff here people.

Madonna - The Immaculate Collection
I'm breaking the rules with this one because it's a greatest hits thingy, but too bad. I have to have it!
I have to give a shout out to some others that I love or it just wouldn't feel right :)
Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, 38 Special, The Cars, Journey, Ben Harper, Eric Hutchinson, Maroon 5, Emerson Hart, One Republic, Paulo Nutini, Akon and good ole' Gwen Stefani (for my girls...).
Now if you read this, play along!!! You know you want to.

Flashback Friday

I found this video today as I was going through old files on my computer. Hayden had the sweetest little high pitched voice when he was little. I just love it. He really was and still is such a fun little kid. He comes up with the funniest thing to say. I just wanna squish him sometimes!

Twilight Movie Script

Hope you all find this as freakin' funny as I do. Misty just sent this to me. Someone's husband left this comment on his wife's blog about a post she did on "Twilight". This is what he said:

I hate to ruin the movie for everyone, but I got my hands on the script:

Edward: I hate Bella.

Bella: I love Edward. Oh his eyes! What should I do? Whine, whine, whine.

Edward: OK, I don't hate you, I just have no self-control (typical guy), oh, and I want to kill you.

Bella: I love Edward. Oh his eyes! What should I do? Whine, whine, whine.

Jacob: I love Bella too, but I want to kill her. And Edward.

Edward: I want to kill Jacob.

Bella: I love Edward and Jacob. Oh their eyes! What should I do? I know, I'll lead both of them on and just whine the entire time.

Edward: Look, I'm shiny!

Jacob: Look, I'm strong!

Bella: Whine, Whine Whine.

She also had this picture... I love it and can't wait for the movie! Now that we all got the inside sneak peak and all...lol!!!

Basketball Season is Over

Hayden played his last basketball game last week. They won! Those little boys really work their butts off. He was able to play on the same team as his two best buddies, Alec and Gavin. Good Job Hayd!

Wyatt played his last game on Monday night. Their team was undefeated up to this point, and they had won most of their games by 30 points or more. Put it this way... their team is good! Anyway, their last game was with the team they had played their first game of the season with. Wyatt's team had basically whooped them by about 40 points the first go round. So apparently this team made it their goal to beat Wyatt's team at the end of the season. And boy did they try. The game was neck and neck the whole way through. Our team would go up by two points and then they would come back and take the lead. It was 4th quarter and we were up by about 5 points. Somehow that other team came back and tied the game. We went in to overtime for two minutes and these boys fought for the win, but after the time was up, they were tied again! Because the game got so "physical", the refs and coaches decided to end the game. As you will see by the next 2 pictures, Wyatt wasn't thrilled. Oh well, I keep telling him that a season with 8 wins, and 1 tied game is pretty dang good! We love ya bud!

Nothing new...

I know, I know, I haven't posted anything new lately. I really don't have any great new pics, and my boys have been SICK. I mean sicker than ever. Wyatt missed a whole week of school last week, and as soon as he started to feel better, Hayden started up. They run a fever every day, have a sore throat, the aches and can't quit coughing. Its been crazy. Life if good though. The weather was so nice the past couple of days, and reminded me how much I love summer!!! It is supposed to get cold again tomorrow and probably snow, but I've seen the light and I'm trying to be optimistic. It has to get better again soon, right?

(I'll try to post something interesting soon...)
