Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful....

1. That this book is coming out on Saturday!

2. For football. I love everything about football season! I love the games, the food, and the fun with our family! And it's a good thing considering I'm the only girl in this family.
3. For my mom. She is the best for so many reasons, but the one I'd like to mention this week is that she always is willing to help me out no matter what. She knows the boys want a specific brand of shoes for school, so she has traveled all over the place trying to find them for me. And sure enough... she did! A dear friend of mine had her mom pass away a few days ago and I just don't know how I would possibly handle that. I am so close to my mom and I rely on her for so many things. I have to always remember how blessed I am to have the best family ever!
4. For Saturday! We have a fun day at Raging Waters (me reading the above mentioned book) planned for Brady's birthday and a fun night planned for our friend James' birthday. I can't wait to just chill and not worry about "week day" stuff.
5. For my eyesight. Since I was little, I've always had terrible eyesight. I always wore glasses or hard contacts. About 8 years ago I had Lasik surgery done and I could finally see. It was like a miracle to me. Since that time, my eyes have gotten a little worse and my corneas are too thin to redo the surgery. It's fine by me though. I was "legally blind" before... so now I don't take it for granted!

Once again... Funny little Hayden!

Mike took this picture of Hayden in Lake Powell. I thought it was so funny, I had to post it. Hayden was quite the fisherman that week! (poor fish!)

Cool 24th!

Thursday, the 24th was such a fun day for our family. We went to a wakeboard competition with our friends the Wadsworth's and our buddy Augie. The kids have been practicing for a month in order to enter the competition. They all did so good. Wyatt cleared the wake twice and landed a bunch of cool board grabs. The kid is getting some serious air! Hayden won the kid division! He did so good and just "went for it." He got the biggest air we've ever seen him get and he landed a bunch of jumps and board grabs. The Wadsworth girls did awesome too! It was a very hot day, but well worth it! Wyatt and Sadie getting ready to compete.
The big sponsor truck that everyone stood under to get some shade.
Harlee, Sadie, Wyatt and Hayden. Best Buddies!
After Hayden competed, it got a little hairy. Some kid did a jump and somehow hit his head with his board. As you can see by the streaming blood down his back... it didn't turn out well for him. The ambulance came and gave him a head full of stitches. It was really gross!

Thankful Thursday

Today I am thankful for my pioneer heritage. I thought it was quite fitting because of the holiday. I have so many amazing and faithful ancestors and I wouldn't be here today without them. The one I think it especially cool is my great, great grandfather, Martin Hansen. He discovered the first cave of Mount Timpanogos. He was such an adventurous guy and was in the canyon hunting and found a small cave opening. Most would turn and go the other way, but he crawled in not knowing what the heck could have been in there. He then saw some amazing stuff and brought a couple of his buddies back the next day to explore further. He's in lots of Utah history books, and I'm just proud to be part of his family tree!

Who are your ancestors? I'd love to hear!

Here we go again....

This weekend was a good one! Friday night we went to see Mama Mia. What a cute show... but just a tip, unless your guy has gay tendencies... don't bring him. Mike slept through the whole thing. We saw the live show in Vegas a few years ago, and the movie didn't disappoint. Meryl Streep is so good! The only part I could have done without is Pierce Brosnin's singing. Not the best I have to say. But for a fun girl's night... go see it!

Saturday night we went to the Police concert. It was a blast! The only problem was that I FORGOT MY CAMERA! How dumb is that? I was so bugged... but I got over it the minute Sting started to sing. He sounds EXACTLY the same as on his CD's! Very good music, great weather and good friends. It doesn't get better than that!

Blog Date

Last night my sister and I met up for dinner with some of our blogging friends.... and some we had never met before. We of course had to go meet Mindi, and I had already met Amy. They are both so adorable, and as you can see - TALL. I look like a dwarf next to them. Mindi bore her "blestimony" about all her blogging buds and I just think she is the cat's meow! These are the rest of the chicks we were so lucky to meet. They're all darling and I can't wait to check out all their blogs now! The other's that I knew were Rachel, Kami and Tiburon. It was cool meeting them too, considering I stalk their blogs on a regular basis (see Rachel's blog for the rest of the girl's we met).
All I have to say girls is thanks for a great time... let's do it again soon! And for any bloggers or non-bloggers that think this is weird..... Don't knock it till you try it! :)

We had family pictures done by Wendy at Blue Lily Photography a couple weeks ago and I thought I'd post a few. I can believe how big my boys are!

Happy Birthday Traci!

Today is my sis-in-law's birthday and I just have to let her know how much I adore her. We went out the other night for the bdays and Hayden told her she looked 37. So we'll go with that. Happy "37th" birthday Traci! We love ya! :)

This is a picture of Traci and her "guyfriend" Gerald. You can tell he just adores her and she seems happier than ever!

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for...

1. My funny little Hayden. He is always such a crack up, but tonight we were on the couch watching TV, and Hayden had fallen asleep. All of a sudden we hear him say "BOARD GRAB!" I looked over and he was still sleeping. We laughed so hard because all he thinks about right now is wakeboarding. He even dreams about it I guess.

2. Living by a Lake. As I mentioned above, my boys have been OBSESSED with wakeboarding this year. Thankfully it's not a big "to do" everyday getting them out there.

3. Saturday. This is the day that Wyatt will finally be home from scout camp! I miss him! They wouldn't even let him bring his phone, so we haven't heard from him since Monday. I'm sure he's having a great time, but I'm done with him being gone now.

4. Netflix. I love getting movies I haven't seen, in the mail.

5. Another concert. We bought tickets to this one months ago. I can't believe we finally get to go!!!

No flippin' way!!

Jason Castro.. (for Hayden)
David A.
David C.
Me and my cute mom!

Yesterday was a great day... Wyatt left for scout camp for a week, and right after we sent him on his way, I got this amazing call from my mom saying that my aunt probably had an extra ticket to the American Idol concert... would I like to go? I said of course I would like to go! Apparently her friend bought some "great seat" tickets to sell before another show was announced, so she was stuck with them. Her loss was our gain. We had AWESOME SEATS! It was so fun to see the final 10 up front in person! My favorite performances were, of course, David A., David C., Carly Smithson, Michael Johns, Jason Castro and Brooke White. But everyone did a really great job. The funniest part of the whole night was that I had some girl sitting next to me that was literally on drugs, and her dancing was way less than par. We laughed for a solid hour over that. I tried to pretend I was videoing the screen and got a small bit... not the best mind you, but you'll get the idea.

Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for...

1. The navigation system in my car. I hadn't ever tried to use it until last weekend when I had to drive to Manti by myself with a trailer on the back. I asked Mike for instructions and he said, "why don't you use your GPS?" And I said, "cause I don't know how." So he helped me, and it took about 2 minutes to set up. That sweet little thing talked to me the whole way there and made sure I made it to my final destination. So now I use it to go to the post office. It's really fun!

2.Nectarines. Ooooooh, they're so yummy right now!

3. Bunco. I play with all my neighborhood friends, and I have to say that lately especially... I've really enjoyed it! They're all really fun and I love getting to know them better every month.

4. Air Conditioning. (need I say more?)

5. Buttrocker Concerts. I'm going to this one tomorrow night, so I'll probably break out the aqua net and blue eyeliner. Can't wait!

What was she thinking???

I know I'm a little slow on talking about this, but I just watched the season finale of "The Bachelorette" last night. And seriously, what was Deanna thinking? I can't believe she picked Jesse over Jason! He is the cutest thing and would have treated her like a queen for the rest of her life. And, on top of it all, he goes running up to her thinking he was gonna be the one and she let him get down on one knee only to tell him NO! Crazy girl... that's all I have to say. Don't get me wrong, I like Jesse too... just not for her. Oh well, whatever. Her loss, and some other VERY LUCKY girl's gain!
The winner in my eyes...

Seriously?????

Another big shout out!

Another great blogging friend of mine, Devri is doing a giveaway on her blog! The following is what you could win, so get over to her blog and leave that girl a comment!

4th of July 2008

Because we were camping and you couldn't do fireworks in the state park, we went in to Manti to watch them instead. We thought it was gonna be some small town show, but we were wrong! They had a pre-show at the high school with live music and a big celebration. Then, they started the fireworks. It was so cool, because the temple was right there in the background, and they played patriotic music the whole time. What a fun family night it turned out to be!

Palisade Lake 2008

Our family went to Palisade Lake for the "4th" weekend this year. It was so fun! We usually go every year, but usually in June or August. The lake is so small that you can't have motorboats on it. The kids just kayak and fish all day long. I sat in a chair and read a book most of the time. That's the life!

This pic is of Hayden after a hike with Grandma. He found a lizard. Fun stuff!

This is Mike's idea of trying to keep the "bugs out".

Wyatt and Hayden in Grandma's trailer.

Hayden chowing down on his favorite food... Watermelon!
My niece, Taliece getting ready to float on a tube. All the kids' kayaks are in the background.Me and the boys keeping cool in Grandma's trailer.

Hayden and Brady showing off their twinner swimsuits.
My mom and dad. Aren't they cute!?

Our Camp.

Me and Misty cutting up veggies for the salad.

All in all, we had a really great time!!
